Fish Without A License On Sept. 23

National Hunting and Fishing Day means Georgia residents can fish without a license on Sept. 23.

CARTERSVILLE, GA — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Alatoona Lake Mobile District announced on their Facebook page that Sept. 23 is National Hunting and Fishing Day, meaning Georgia residents will get something of a present.

On that day, Sept. 23, Georgia residents will be allowed to fish in all state waters without a fishing license or trout license, the Facebook post said. "However, all other fishing regulations do apply."

"We hope you'll take this day to get outside and enjoy Georgia's beautiful lakes and streams, especially Allatoona!" the post said. "Take someone that has never been fishing or make that special memory with your family."

They also reminded fishers to be safe, be responsible, and to clean up their messes. Leave nothing behind, and take only pictures (and maybe some fish).
