Free Admission To Bartow History, Booth Western Art Museums On Sept. 27

The museums will participate in Smithsonian Magazine's Museum Day Live!, which offers free admission to museums to anyone with tickets.

The Bartow History Museum and Booth Western Art Museum are just two of hundreds of institutions across the country participating in Smithsonian magazine’s Museum Day Live!

An annual event, Museum Day Live! involves participating museums across the country opening their doors to anyone who presents an official Museum Day Live! ticket for free. This year’s event will occur on Saturday, Sept. 27. 

The Bartow History Museum, located at 4 E. Church Street in Cartersville, ”documents the history of northwest Georgia’s Bartow County, spanning more than 200 years since the Cherokee were the area’s primary residents,” according to its website.

Artifacts, photographs, documents, and a variety of interactive permanent exhibits tell the story of settlement, Cherokee life and removal, Civil War strife and lifestyles of years past.

The Booth Western Art Museum, located at 501 Museum Drive in Cartersville, “houses the largest permanent exhibition space for Western art in the country,” its website states.
