Friday Football Preview: Canes Host Gilmer

Cartersville is playing at home tonight while Woodland and Cass are traveling.

Gilmer (3-2, 0-1) at Cartersville (2-3, 1-1) – The way to beat Gilmer is to keep them off the scoreboard. As simple as that sounds, in two losses Gilmer has averaged 6.5 points per game. In their three wins the Bobcats have scored just over 26. is holding teams this season to just 12 points per game, so the recipe seems right for a ‘Canes win tonight.

Cass (0-6, 0-6) at Forsyth Central (1-4, 1-4) – can climb out of the Region 7-AAAA basement with a win over Forsyth Central tonight. Both teams give up more than 30 points per game, so the scoreboard could get a workout. Whichever offense can move the ball the best should win. Over the past two games the Colonels have scored more than the Bulldogs.

Woodland (3-2, 3-2) at Chattahoochee (4-1, 4-1) – It’s never easy to travel to the reigning state championship team’s house, but must do just that tonight. Chattahoochee has won four games in a row while Woodland just halted a two-game skid with a win.
