Fund Created To Help Family Of Men Killed In House Fire (ICYMI)
Brothers Scottie and Jeffrey Croy died in the Dec. 29 fire, which also injured their parents and gutted the residence.
KINGSTON, GA — The community is rallying behind the Kingston family who suffered a tragic loss late last week when two brothers died in a house fire in Bartow County. A GoFundMe account has been created to help the Croy family, whose home was destroyed in the Dec. 29 fire on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.
Brothers Scottie and Jeffrey Croy died in the fire, which the Georgia Insurance Commissioner's Office determined to be accidental and possibly caused by an electrical malfunction.
The brothers' parents, David Croy, 68, and Glenda Croy, 69, were transported to area hospitals. The GoFundMe page is hoping to raise $5,000 and as of Saturday, $3,270 has been donated to the cause.

"The family struggled financially before the fire and were uninsured," the GoFundMe page created by Cartersville-based Lighthouse Ministries states. "Now the extended family is faced with the cost of the brothers' funeral among other large expenses."
According to the page, David Croy has been released from Floyd Medical Center and "is doing well, as can be expected after losing two sons to this tragedy." Unfortunately, Glenda Coy remains hospitalized at WellStar Cobb Hospital in Austell. However, campaign organizer Stacy Crider said the matriarch of the family has made considerable strides towards recovery.

"After I was told yesterday that the brothers' mom, Glenda, was being taken off the vent, the doctors noticed she was suddenly responding to the steroids and they want to keep her on the machine for one more week and try some new medicine," Crider said Friday. "Please pray hard because God still performs miracles."
Any money donated will be used towards costs related to funeral expenses and other necessities for the family. You can make a contribution by clicking here.
