GBI Raids White City Hall, Police Department

Search warrants were executed Thursday, Jan. 21 as a result of an "ongoing public corruption investigation" in Bartow County.

White, GA -- A public corruption investigation has resulted in the raid of two public entities in the small Bartow County city of White.

On Thursday, Jan. 21, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the FBI executed search warrants at the White Police Department and White City Hall, which are located at 19 Rocky Street.

The warrants, the GBI said, “are a result of an ongoing public corruption investigation.” Spokesperson Scott Dutton said the warrants were executed at 10:45 a.m. and the search wrapped up at 3:15 p.m.

The GBI’s investigation was initiated on Oct. 28, 2015, at the request of the District Attorney’s Office regarding “allegations of extortion,” the agency said.

Dutton added he couldn’t provide additional details at this time.
