Girl, 8, Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash in Cartersville
The eight-year-old was airlifted to T.C. Thompson Children's Hospital after the accident, which occurred Sunday evening.

Charges are pending in a two-vehicle accident that sent several people to area hospitals, including an eight-year-old child who had to be airlifted to Tennessee for treatment.
The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the collision, which occurred around 7:22 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21. According to the agency, a Mazda Protégé was traveling eastbound on S.R. 20/U.S. 411 while a Dodge Dakota was traveling southbound from Hamilton Crossing Road.
The Dodge was attempting to cross over S.R. 20 to access Old Gillam Springs Road when it did not yield to the Mazda, agency spokesperson Tracey Watson said. The Dodge was struck on its passenger side by the Protégé. After impact, the Dodge overturned and the Mazda hit the guardrail.

Eight-year-old Nia Dublin of Jonesboro was airlifted to T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
The other four people in the Mazda — driver Illmarecus Dublin, 27 of Powder Springs, Kayla Caldwell, 24, of Greenville, Lafairo Glenn, 15, of Rome and Tonya Glenn, 16, of Rome — were all transported by ground to Floyd Medical Center.

All three passengers in the Dodge — driver Cody Lee Higdon, 18, of Kingston, Cole Bagwell, 16, of Kingston and Calvin Edmonson, 33, of Adairsville — were also transported by ground to Floyd Medical Center.
