- Teacher's grants are approved: Dot Frasier and the Education Foundation have finished approving this year's teacher grants. More than 245 grants were submitted and roughly 210 were approved. Approximately $95,000 will be going to classrooms in our district. (Bartow County Schools via Twitter)
- A Cartersville High student wins a short film contest: From August to November, area high schoolers submitted films to the RIFF Student Academy Short Films Contest, sponsored by Georgia Highlands College. GHC recognized Cartersville High School student Charles Crum for his directorial skills on the student film "CHS Jumbotron Crew: Behind the Scenes." Crum's documentary features the student production crew at CHS and their process during Friday night football games. (highlands.edu)
- Bartow sees unemployment rate rise in October: According to Georgia Labor Commissioner Mark Butler, Bartow County had an unemployment rate of 2.9% in October, up five-tenths of a percent over the month. In October 2021, the rate was 2.9%. (wbhfradio.org)
