Group Dedicates Neel's Landing Boat Launch at Etowah River

The U.S. 411/Macedonia Road boat launch known as Neel’s Landing was officially dedicated on Thursday.

The launch is culmination of more than six years of advocacy work by Rome-based Coosa River Basin Initiative, the organization said on its Facebook page.
CRBI worked with the Neel Family and Bartow County and contributed more than $20,000 in cash and in-kind donations to make the boat launch a reality, the organization states.

Neel’s Landing sits at 11 Macedonia Road, Kingston, GA 30145.
The launch is part of the Etowah River Trail, a 163-mile canoe, kayak and boating trail that stretches the length of the river from Lumpkin County to Rome.
In September 2014, the city of Cartersville opened the Etowah River boat launch at Leake Mounds, which is also part of the river trail.
