Gun Show, Other Events on Tap
The Clarence Brown Conference Center is bringing a number of shows and conferences to Cartersville.

Opening last year, the is busy attracting new events and conferences to Cartersville and Bartow County, meeting its goal to be a leader in economic development.
Those efforts also benefit the people of Cartersville, as many consumer shows and conferences coming to the center are of interest to local residents.
These events are set for the winter months:

Feb. 5 to 6 – , Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $8 for adults and less for children.
Feb. 12 – Cocktails for a Cause is the Cartersville Service League’s annual fundraiser. Beginning at 7:30 p.m., the event including food, beverages and dancing, benefits many local charities: Boys & Girls Club, Cartersville Special Olympics, Good Neighbor Shelter, Etowah Foundation, Action Ministries and Bartow County Women's Resource Center. Tickets are $45 at the door with a $5 discount if purchased in advance. Participants must be 21.

Feb. 26 to 27 – 2011 presented by Rome Radio Partners is set for Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 1 to 5 p.m. Learn tips for your next do-it-yourself project or find the perfect business for your next big home improvement job. The two-day event will feature businesses from across north Georgia introducing you to the latest ideas for home, lawn and garden.
March 6 to 7 – 2011 Winter Chautauqua is a two-day seminar for tourism professionals hosted by the Historic High Country Travel Association. As host city, the Cartersville-Bartow County Convention & Visitors Bureau will host the Sunday evening opening events at the Booth Western Art Museum where the True Grit in Tourism Product Development panel discussion will be moderated by Melinda Lemmon, executive director of the Cartersville-Bartow County Joint Development Authority. Speakers will include Georgia Museums Inc. Executive Director Seth Hopkins, Barnsley Gardens Resort General Manager Scott Mahr, David Branch with Lake Point Sports Development and a representative from the Tourism Development Alliance of Georgia.
March 15 – 2011 is hosted by the Cartersville-Bartow County Chamber of Commerce. This year’s theme is “Health Madness – The Road to Better Health” and will be open for business-to-business marketing from 3 to 5 p.m. and open to the public 5 to 7 p.m.
March 26 – 2011 Northwest Georgia Women’s Expo will feature 56 exhibitors of interest to women of all ages from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Attendees can expect new fashions, accessories, health and beauty products, exercise demonstrations, door prizes and more. Admission is $5 per person.
In addition to those events, local schools are finding the center meets their needs for a variety of upcoming events.
The JROTC Support Group will be holding a portrait fundraiser on four weekends in March and April. 's Prom will be at the conference center in March.
