Henshaw Named Executive Director Of The Year

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- Sheri Henshaw, executive director of Keep Bartow Beautiful, has received Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation's Executive Director of the Year - Barbara Mason Award for 2017. Henshaw was recognized for her 17-plus year commitment to her job.

"This is a prestigious award and can be awarded only once in a lifetime," the county said. "Sheri more than deserves this honor, as she has worked hard to engage Bartow County in many environmental programs."

The county added local schools recycle, and they also take part in annual Great American Cleanup initiatives and Anheuser-Busch, corporate, sponsor, and local 4-H programs conduct river cleanups and Adopt-A-Road programs.

Bartow County's Master Gardeners also received recognition in the highly competitive category of "Beautification." Their many generous volunteer hours with the Arbor Day seedling give away, school and pollinator gardens, downtown beautification projects such as the Shakespeare Garden and Downtown Planters have made these projects possible.
