Here are the top stories today in Cartersville:
- As of Oct. 26, Bartow County has recorded an estimated 8,700 in-person votes cast. Roughly 1,800 absentee ballots had also been issued by mail. (Subscription: The Daily Tribune News)
- It was reported at the Bartow County Board of Education's work session on Oct. 17, that Adairsville Elementary, Cass Middle and Adairsville High are above 90% maximum capacity. Board members were provided with options to help alleviate overcrowding. (Subscription: The Daily Tribune News)
- Bartow County Chief Magistrate Judge Brandon Bryson, 38, was named one of Georgia Trend's 40 Under 40. He was one of Georgia's youngest chief magistrates at age 32 when he took office nearly six years ago. (georgiatrend.com)
