Horse Killed By Car Driving Through Pasture In Bartow County
A Confederate flag vanity plate and pieces of the front grill from the vehicle were left behind at the scene of the collision.

CARTERSVILLE, GA — A horse was hit and killed last week by a car driving through a pasture in northwest Bartow County. According to an incident report released by the Sheriff's Office, a deputy was dispatched around 8:43 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 23 to the call at Five Forks Stables at 201 Crowe Springs Road NW in Cartersville and met with the caretaker.
The caretaker said someone crashed through the fence of the pasture and fatally hit one of the horses in the field. The woman said she believed the incident happened overnight, as the fence was not damaged when she checked the area around 9 a.m. Aug. 22. While observing the scene, the deputy made note of a set of tracks leading to the fence and continuing towards Cedar Creek Road.
"The tracks continued into the pasture leading to where the deceased horse was lying," the report goes on to state.

The tracks observed in the ground made a circle in the pasture, going out the same way it came into the field. However, the direction of the vehicle's travel was undetermined. The owner of the land pleaded with the public on Facebook to help track down the perpetrators of the incident.
"We would greatly appreciate any information on who may have done this," Mitchell Martin said. "There is a reward for any kind of information. There is probably a lot of damage to the car."
