  1. How Hurricane Ian may affect us: We expect to see rain of 3+ inches and some sustained wind gust. We are in an area of 20% probability for Tropical Storm Winds greater than 40 mph. If we see any impact, that should occur Thursday or Friday. (cityofcartersville.org)
  2. Hot corner in Cartersville: The area near the intersection of Tennessee Street and GA-Hwy 20 has seen rapid construction recently. The soon-to-open Big Time liquor store and Mach-1 car wash is quickly coming together between Harbor Freight and Speedway. The tract of land in front of Tractor Supply will include the yet-to-be-built Varsity restaurant and drive-through as well as a site for future development. Georgia Highlands College is also planning a new baseball complex next to Savoy Automobile Museum. These new projects will join the huge multi-use development already underway across from the Savoy.   3. Inclement weather postpones games: Forecasts of inclement weather has resulted in high school football games being bumped to Thursday, Sept. 29. Cartersville will host Calhoun and Woodland will host Cass and both games are scheduled to kickoff at 7:30 p.m. (Daily Tribune News via Twitter)
