According to an incident report released by the agency, a guest at Courtesy Inn on U.S. 411 said someone knocked on his door around 1 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16.

The man, who brandished a knife, began to demand money from the alleged victim, the report states. The man said he did not have any money, grabbed the suspect’s wrist and began to struggle with the knife-wielding suspect.

At that point, the man “panicked” and bolted from the room. The woman, according to the report, never entered the room.

Police were told the man and woman fled the scene in a silver Dodge Caravan. The woman is described as a younger, heavy-set white female with naturally red hair. Height and eye color could not be provided, but the man said she was last seen wearing a red and white shirt with “Georgia Bulldogs” written on it.

The man is believed to be in his early 20s, 5’5’’ and has a thin build. His hair and eye color is also unknown, but was last seen wearing a dark hat turned backwards, a polka-dotted grey bandana concealing his face and a light-colored long sleeve shirt.

The non-serrated knife, the man told police, was a short, fixed-blade whose length was about six inches.
