LakePoint Brings College Volleyball Exhibition To Bartow County

LakePoint Sporting Community, the world’s largest sporting destination in Bartow County, will welcome some of the top women sand volleyball players in the country for its inaugural Collegiate Sand Clash & Bash in November.

In support of the world’s fastest growing sport in NCAA history, the one-day, collegiate volleyball exhibition will start at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15.

The exhibition will feature players from two of the Top 10 U.S. sand programs, Georgia State University and Florida State University, along with Louisiana State University, University of South Carolina and the University of Alabama at Birmingham. More participating schools to be announced shortly.

Admission is free to those who wish to attend the fun-filled bash while cheering for their favorite team. The bash will include viewing of college football games and tailgate Olympics.

Pairs must register ahead of time in order to compete for fun prizes in a round robin of corn-hole, ring-toss and caps. For more information and to register, visit Rally Volleyball’s website.

In addition to the Sand Clash & Bash event, junior players who aspire to receive sand volleyball scholarships are invited to attend a juniors players’ clinic that will be run by Olympian and world champion Sinjin Smith. Players can register for the Juniors Clinic clinic also on Rally Volleyball’s website. 

“We are dedicated to supporting the efforts of organizations like USA Volleyball, Southern Region Volleyball Association and Amateur Athletic Union to grow the sport of sand volleyball, and volleyball as a whole,” said Earl Ehrhart, CEO of LakePoint Sports. “We aim to make Rally Volleyball at LakePoint the east coast hub for sand volleyball, and look forward to the possibility of hosting the soon-to-be championship sport at our complex.”

The Rally Volleyball Complex at LakePoint Sports includes 10 sand courts with state-of-the-art LED lighting and a two-story, open-air pavilion.

In 2013, Rally Volleyball formed a joint venture with LakePoint Sporting Community and has been working with national, regional and local organizations including USA Volleyball, to increase volleyball participation, viewership and sponsorship.

In its inaugural year, Rally Volleyball and LakePoint have hosted televised pro-tour volleyball events, and numerous adult and junior series tournaments and clinics.
