Laney House To Discuss 19th Century Music In Cartersville

Attendees will hear about the evolution of the banjo and how music helped shape the nation.

From Bartow History Museum: On Thursday, March 29th, at 7 p.m., the Bartow History Museum welcomes Laney House who will speak on “19th Century Music”. House, a multi-instrumentalist and music historian, will discuss and perform songs from before, during, and after the Civil War, including popular songs of the era, as well as songs and tunes indigenous to the northwest Georgia area. Attendees will hear about the evolution of the banjo and how music helped shape the nation. The lecture is free to members and included with the price of admission for non-members.
