While we are no doubt in the thick of winter, Cartersville and Bartow County residents will soon be able to pick up a few tips on how to prepare your garden for the transition to spring.
The Etowah Indian Mounds State Historic Site will host a session filled with tips on what can be done at time of year in your garden and backyard to prepare for planting. The session will also touch on what residents can do to help wildlife thrive throughout the cold season.

Winter is the perfect time to prepare wildflower gardens, control invasive plants and give wildlife a helping hand.
The event will take place 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 7 at the park, located at 813 Indian Mounds Rd. S.E. in Cartersville. Tickets are $2 for children up to 5 years old, $4 for youth 6-17 years old, $6 for adults and $5 for seniors.
