Lecture Debunks Myths Of Cherokee Nation's Removal

The lecture is free for members and included in the price of admission to the museum for non-members.​

From Bartow Museum: Walter Knapp, Vice President of Georgia Trail of Tears Association, will speak on the Cherokee Removal in the presentation, entitled “Exploring the Myths to Discover the Realities of the Removal”, Thursday June 28th at 7 p.m. at the Bartow History Museum. According to Knapp, “There are five basic misconceptions or myths about the Removal”, which he will share during the presentation. He will also review seven court decisions, both federal and state, and discuss the impact of each on the actual removal. The impact of state decisions was the key to removal. The lecture is free for members and included in the price of admission to the museum for non-members.
