Lecture Explores Oakland Cemetery, Importance of Historic Preservation
Moore will discuss why preserving our history is so important and why cemeteries are play an important role in historic preservation.

From Bartow History Museum: Join David Moore, the Executive Director of The Historic Oakland Foundation, on October 18 at the Bartow History Museum as he talks about Atlanta’s well-known Oakland Cemetery and the importance of historic preservation. Moore will discuss why preserving our history is so important to society, why (and how) cemeteries play an important role in historic preservation, and how historic preservation (with Oakland cemetery as a prime example) drives community revitalization and creates an environment for economic growth. The lecture will start at 12 p.m. It is free for members and included in the price of admission to the museum for non-members.
