Brown said the county will not be charging for permitting fees.

The county could spend $400,000 to $500,000 on clean up, but the costs of the storms to the county could be an estimated $1 million, including overtime and waived fees.

Brown said those costs could necessitate a budget amendment, but officials are not ready to say how much that could be or when it could happen.

10:02 a.m. The commissioner awarded a $68.50-per-ton bid for storm clean up and demolition services.
