Update: New Jobs Expected as Manufacturer Expands

Frank Buscemi, TI Automotive's marketing and communications director, confirmed the company leased a second facility in Cartersville and said it's next door to the existing Cartersville location.

"The facility will be used to make fluid carrying systems—brake and fuel lines—for Ford," he said. "We leased the facility to migrate business that had been in northern Mexico at a facility that we are closing this year. The new work will result in the addition of approximately 10 to 12 new positions later this year."

TI Automotive currently employs 250 people in the local operation: 180 full-time and 70 temporary workers.

CoStar, a real estate information company, reported Wednesday that TI Automotive, which already has a facility in Cartersville, is expanding and leasing a second location in town.

The automotive fluid storage company, which specializes in fluid carrying systems, entered a lease agreement for an 85,500-square-foot warehouse at 220 River Drive, according to costar.com.

WBHF — AM 1450 reports TI Automotive has an existing facility at 2 Swisher Drive in Cartersville.

It has 18,500 employees at 130 locations in 28 countries, including two existing plants in Georgia.
