- Athletes and teams from Tennessee, Kentucky, Florida, South Carolina and New York are part of over 4,000 entries for this year's Wingfoot XC Classic. A fast-growing entry on the national calendar, the Atlanta Track Club puts on a series of 15 races over two days and its set to be one of its best yet. (MileSplit)
- Alliance Residential Company has closed on 50 acres of land for the development of an apartment community. Cartersville is expected to add thousands of new jobs in the next few years and new homes will be needed to accommodate the additional workforce. (Connect CRE)
- Benjamin Walker, born Benjamin Walker Davis, was raised right here in Cartersville.
