Man Accused Of Kidnapping Cartersville Infant: Police
Cartersville Police said the man was attempting to take the baby to south Georgia against the mother's wishes and was driving a stolen car.
CARTERSVILLE, GA — A man is being charged after Cartersville Police said he tried to take an infant against the mother's wishes to south Georgia in a stolen car.
Officers responded to a child abduction call around 6:15 p.m. Monday in the 300 block of Old Mill Road, police said. The infant the man is accused of taking is 10 months old, police said.
State law enforcement was notified and investigators were able to call the man's cell phone and get him to take the child to a relative in south Atlanta, police said. The infant was unharmed and was taken back to his mother, police said.

The man was identified by police as Maurice Hall. The Georgia State Patrol arrested Hall in Monroe County, police said.
Hall is being charged on suspicion of kidnapping, felony theft and robbery in Bartow County, police said. He is facing additional charges in Monroe and has outstanding warrants in Cherokee County, police said.
