Man Accused Of Trying To Rob Cartersville Massage Parlor At Knifepoint

A man entered a massage parlor and asked for a massage before trying to rob the Cartersville business at knifepoint, police say.

CARTERSVILLE, GA — A man has been arrested after being accused of attempting to rob a South Gilmer Street massage parlor at knifepoint this week, Cartersville Police said Wednesday.

The incident happened Monday. Police said when they responded to an assault call, the victim told them a man came into the business and asked for a massage.

Once the two of them were in the massage room, police said the man pulled out a knife and tried to rob the business.

They engaged in a struggle, and the victim suffered "injuries consistent with those from a sharp object," police said. The victim was able to escape, and the man fled the scene, police said.

Through "critical information," police said the Bartow County Sheriff's Office was able to identify and detain the man.

Cartersville officers then arrested the man, who they identified as Jaiden Walraven of Cartersville, on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, armed robbery and kidnapping. Bartow County Jail records on Wednesday showed he was being held without bond.
