Worker Dies After Being Trapped Inside Machine
The incident occurred Saturday afternoon during routine maintenance at Shaw Industries' Plant 15 in Cartersville.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- A man at a Shaw Industries Plant in Cartersville has been pronounced dead after he was trapped in a machine Saturday afternoon.

Crews with Bartow County Emergency Medical Services were dispatched in the afternoon of April 2 to Plant 15 at 5225 U.S. 411 in response to the emergency.
Bartow EMS spokesperson Brad Cothran said the patient, a male victim, "had no signs of life" by the time crews arrived.

WBHF Radio notes the man has been identified as 56-year-old David Holland of Aragon.
Susan Farris, a Shaw Industries spokesperson, said the associate died "during routine maintenance" at the plant.
"The health and safety of Shaw’s associates is our top priority," the company said. "Shaw will be conducting an investigation into the matter. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of our associate."
