ADAIRSVILLE, GA -- A man pulling a Jeep with a motor home died in a crash Monday morning along U.S. 41 just south of Adairsville. Bartow County EMS personnel were dispatched to the scene of the discovery around 6 a.m. Oct. 2 along Joe Frank Harris Highway near Parkerwood Road.

Crews initially arrived to find a Jeep that collided with a tree, but no driver was discovered around that vehicle, said Bartow EMS spokesperson Brad Cothran (SIGN UP: Get Patch's Daily Newsletter and Real Time News Alerts. Or, if you have an iPhone, download the free Patch app).

However, a preliminary investigation reveals a motor home hauling a Jeep was traveling northbound on the highway when it veered to the left "for unknown reasons and off the roadway," the Georgia State Patrol told Patch.

The motor home hit the tree with its top, which caused severe damage to the vehicle. Emergency medical crews as well as Bartow County firefighters continued to search the surrounding area and came upon the motor home located down an embankment near the Jeep.

Once they looked inside, they discovered the driver inside the vehicle, who was pronounced dead at the scene, Cothran added.
