Man Reports Gun Stolen From Safe Inside Home
The resident told a Bartow County sheriff's deputy he believes two people who stayed with him were behind the alleged theft.

ACWORTH, GA — A Bartow County man reported his gun was stolen from a safe tucked away inside his Acworth home.
A deputy with the Bartow County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to a residence around 3:23 p.m. July 30 on Pine Drive and met with a 32-year-old man reporting the alleged theft. According to the agency's incident report, the resident said he let a man and woman stay with him for a few days last week.
However, when he woke up Monday, he noticed the pair and their belongings were gone. The resident also said a Ruger 9-millimeter handgun he kept in a safe inside his bedroom closet was missing.

"He also found other stuff in the residence had been moved and gone through," the report added.

According to the report, the resident said he did not know the gun's serial number, but said he could obtain that piece of information from the place where he purchased the firearm.
