Man Stabbed During Fight In Cartersville

Two men were charged in connection to the incident, which was reported Oct. 28 at an apartment unit on Old Mill Road.

CARTERSVILLE, GA — Two men have been charged with assault after their neighbor was attacked and stabbed in the neck and torso during a fight last weekend in Cartersville.

Officers were dispatched to a call around 9:51 p.m. Oct. Sunday, Oct. 28 at an apartment unit in the 300 block of Old Mill Road and found a man being treated for stab wounds to his neck and torso. According to a Cartersville police incident report, the victim told officers he was attacked by his neighbors.

Both men were found in an adjoining apartment. One of the subjects, identified as Bryan Hale, said the altercation began when he dropped his lighter outside and the victim allegedly "charged at him with a can of soup when he went to pick it up."

At that point, Hale said he and the victim fought on the ground, but he denied stabbing the male. However, a witness at the scene told police she saw the victim walk out of his apartment and was shoved by Hale and another man identified as Donald Scott. Hale, the woman said, allegedly stabbed the victim during the commotion.

"She stated that she saw him raise his arm then bring it down in a 'stabbing' motion," the incident report states.
