- Georgia State Patrol cadet, Patrick Dupree, will be laid to rest Saturday by loved ones and friends. Cadet Dupree collapsed during a training exercise last week and later died. A celebration of life will take place today at 1 p.m. at the Clarence Brown Conference Center. (FOX 5 Atlanta)

- City of Cartersville Finance Director Tom Rhinehart provided documents that indicate the city's general fund expenses outpaced its revenues by more than $1 million in July. The city ended July 2022 with just over $2 million in general fund revenues and fund expenses were reported at slightly over $3 million. (Subscription: The Daily Tribune)
