In Memory: Bill Fortenberry, Cartersville Business Owner
Bill Fortenberry was employed by Georgia Power for 17 years before he started his own business, F.W. Fortenberry General Backhoe Service.

Forrest William “Bill” Fortenberry, 88, of Cartersville, died on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Cartersville Medical Center.
Born on July 29, 1926, in Calhoun, he was the son of the late Charles Horrace Fortenberry and the late Nellie Carnes Fortenberry.
He was employed by Georgia Power for 17 years before he started his own business, F.W. Fortenberry General Backhoe Service. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Cartersville Lodge #63 Free and Accepted Masons. He supported the Georgia Sheriff’s Youth Homes and was always helpful to others.

He enjoyed fishing and gardening. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Dempsey; brother, Charles Horrace Fortneberry, Jr. Survivors include his wife of 68 years Annie Mae Matthews Fortenberry of Cartersville; son, Ed Fortenberry and his wife Sherri of Kingston; granddaughter, Taryn Fortenberry of Kingston; grandson, Justin Fortenberry and significant other Sheri Marie Vaughan of Cassville; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with the Rev. Keith Willard officiating. A private interment will be held at a later date.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
