In Memory: Carl Franklin Cantrell, 57, "Mountain Man" Who Lived Simple Life
Cantrell was also a self-employed carpenter and enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends.

Mr. Carl Franklin Cantrell, Jr. or as most know him “Booner” or “Mountain Man” passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at his residence.
He was born in Honolulu, HI, May 5, 1958, son of Ruby Kekua Ditto and the late Carl Franklin Cantrell, Sr. He is preceded in death by his father; grandparents, S. D. and Ila Cantrell, and an aunt, Dot Costlow.

Mr. Cantrell liked living a simple life and had a kind and loving heart. He was an accomplished, self-employed carpenter and enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends. He could always be counted on to help out in time of need. He was a member of the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church.
He is survived by his children, Dylan Johnson and Amy Williams both of Kingston; grandchildren, Mason and Morgan Williams of Kingston; mother, Ruby Ditto of Oregon; sisters, Carol and Rickey Rogers of Calhoun and Rose Marie Miller of Blackfoot, Idaho; aunts, Emma Williams of Kingston, and Martha and Jerry Dowdy of Rome; uncle, Russell and Margaret Cantrell of Rome; fiancé, Pam Brown; her daughter, Stacey Sides and her grandchildren, Ryannah Beasley and James Sides, III; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside services will be held Friday, September 4, 2015, at 2:00 PM at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church Cemetery, Taylorsville with Brother Sammy Hall officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM.
Pallbearers include Greg Dowdy, Danny Tucker, Timothy Tucker, T.J. Anderson, Ken Taylor, and Richie Hunter. Honorary pallbearers include William Costlow, Wayne Cantrell, Rickey Rogers, Jerry Dowdy, Michael Sparks, and Jason Costlow.
