Glenn Barry Hames, Jr. died suddenly on Sunday, Aug. 17 in Cartersville. Funeral services will be held on Monday.

Glenn Barry Hames, Jr., 25, of Dallas died suddenly on Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014 in Cartersville.
Born in Floyd County on December 25, 1988, he was the son of Glenn Barry Hames, Sr. and Tammy Jacobs Hames.

He was a U.S. Army Iraq War veteran, having served with the 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, New York 1/87INF. Glenn had a big heart, great sense of humor and was very social, meeting people well. His passion was fishing. Preceding him in death are his paternal grandfather, Carey Hames and maternal grandparents, Betty and Boone Jacobs.
Survivors include his parents Glenn, Sr. and Tammy Hames of Acworth; his finacee’, Carey Michele Holt; two sons, Matthew and Jordan Holt of Dallas; his siblings, Rebecca Evans of Dallas, Alicia Hames of Taylorsville, David Shook of Acworth, Phillip Hames of Marianna, Florida and Kyle Barron of Cartersville; his grandmother, Mary Lou Hames of Taylorsville; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 25, 2014 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Mr. Danny Frye and Greg Patterson officiating.
A private family interment will follow. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday at the funeral home.
