In Memory: Melissa Jean Whitfield, 37

Melissa Jean Whitfield, 37, of Cartersville passed away Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014, at WellStar Kennestone Hospital.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014, at the chapel of South Canton Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, Dec. 26, 2014, and from 10 a.m. to the funeral hour on Saturday at South Canton Funeral Home.

She was preceded in death by dad Billy Jack Garrett. Survivors include husband Craig Whitfield of Cartersville; stepfather Chuck Abernathy and mother Connie Abernathy of Canton; father-in-law and mother-in-law Steve and Donna Whitfield; grandmothers Peggy Ragsdale and Aline Garrett; brother Jason Garrett of Chattanooga, Tennessee; sister Cynthia Rollins of Cumming; and several nieces and nephews.

Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to the South Canton Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
