In Memory: Michael Shane Wilson, 43

The following obituary was submitted by Owen Funeral Home:

Michael Shane Wilson, 43, of Cartersville, Georgia, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015.

Mr. Wilson was born April 10, 1971, in Cobb County, the son of John Michael and Linda Sue (Campbell) Wilson, was employed at J.M. Huber Corporation and was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jess and Jessie Campbell and Mary and I.L. Wilson.

Surviving are his children, Kaitlyn Grace Wilson and Jacob Michael Wilson of Cartersville; his parents, Mike and Linda Wilson of Marietta; his former wife and mother of his children, Tonya Wilson of Cartersville; aunts and uncles, Jean and Charles Crabbe, Barry and Jeannette Campbell, Billy Rae and Kandy Campbell, Leamon Wilson and Kevin Wilson; great-aunts, Catherine Matthews, Ida Lingos, Mrs. Archie Edwards and Mary Janoulis and a number of cousins.

Funeral services were held Thursday, March 5, 2015, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Faulkner officiating.

The family received friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Wednesday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Mr. Wilson will be cremated following services Thursday.
