Bartow County Native and Resident, Jason Steven Smith, was first diagnosed with an Inoperable low-grade 2 Astrocytoma, after under -going a biopsy in 2011. His first round of treatment was radiation. The tumor seemed to stabilize for about a year. He continued routine MRI's every 3-4 months so doctors could watch to see if the disease progressed. An MRI in April 2012 revealed the tumor had progressed and was treated with 13 months of Temodar. As soon as the 13 months of chemo was completed, the very next MRI reflected the tumor had progressed significantly and doctors ordered another biopsy. After his second biopsy on August 23, 2013, Jason met with the doctors about a week later to discuss the biopsy results. The tumor had progressed to a Grade 4 Secondary Glioblastoma. Jason is currently deciding on the next route of treatment to pursue. He is asking everyone to pray and believe he will be among the 3% of Glioblastoma survivors and asking God to perform a MIRACLE on his behalf. Miracles Happen.
A FaceBook page has been created for prayer and support, to keep everyone updated on his progress, and for everyone to come together to pray and support and simply let Jason know we care. http://www.FaceBook.com/MiraclesHappenForJasonStevenSmith
