Mom Finds Naked Man Inside Cartersville Home: Report
The woman told Bartow sheriff's deputies the man was touching his genitals in the doorway of her bedroom, an incident report notes.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- A Cartersville woman reported she woke to a naked man groping his genitals inside her bedroom early Tuesday morning, according to an incident report released by the Bartow County Sheriff's Office.
The woman called 911 to report the incident, and sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the home in the 300 block of Oak Ridge Drive in unincorporated Cartersville to check out the resident's complaint.
Officers arrived just after 5 a.m. May 30 and and spoke to the victim, who said she and her two children were all asleep in their respective bedrooms on the upper level of the home. The mother said she heard the door to one of her children's room open through the baby monitor.

"She woke up and thought it may have been her husband...kissing the kids goodnight because he works night shift at Cartersville Medical Center," the report states.
She then told police she heard the door to the room open again, but noted she didn't have any concerns at that point. However, she realized her husband gets off work around 5 a.m. and when she noticed the time was 4:47 a.m., she realized the movement in the home may not be that of her husband's.

"She sat up in bed when she saw a dark outline of a white male standing in her doorway totally nude," the report states.
The woman told police the male, who was touching his genitals, had a medium build and a "round beer gut." She believed he was between the ages of 40 and 55 years old and had "stretched" skin on his body, the report adds.
While she told police she could not recall seeing tattoos or facial hair due to the dim lighting in the room, she said the male had a short, flat hair cut and "skinny legs," the deputy wrote.
"He slowly and calmly turned and walked back away from her doorway," the report adds. "She heard bare feet walking back through the house and heard a door close downstairs. That was the last she saw of the male."
The report notes there was no visible damage to any of the exterior doors of the home and that both doors leading through the garage and into the house were closed, but unlocked when deputies arrived.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the sheriff's office at 770-382-5050.
