More Than 100 Turn Out For Iron Order Motorcycle Ride Fundraiser

The 10th annual event, which raises money for Advocates for Children's Flowering Branch Children's Shelter, was held Saturday, June 3.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- More than 100 riders took part in the 10th annual Iron Order Motorcycle Club Ride for the Kids held earlier this month.

The June 3 fundraiser, which benefited Advocates for Children’s Flowering Branch Children’s Shelter, took roughly 150 riders on a scenic route through Northwest Georgia. Over the last nine years, the event has raised more than $50,000, including $14,000 raised during 2016.

Starting at the Flowering Branch Children’s Shelter with a breakfast and send-off, the 2-hour ride took riders through much of Bartow County and ended at Friendship Plaza in downtown Cartersville. The after party included raffles, live and silent auctions, music and food.

Money raised from the event benefits Advocates for Children and its Flowering Branch Children’s Shelter. The shelter provides direct care and a home for children and youth from ages 10 to 18. These funds are dedicated to providing summer activities for the residents, including a long weekend trip to the beach.
