Motorcyclist Injured In Bartow Crash

ACWORTH, GA -- A motorcycle operator was transported to an Atlanta hospital following a single-vehicle crash Tuesday evening near Lake Allatoona.

Units with Bartow County Emergency Medical Services responded to the crash along McKinney Campground Road around 8:28 p.m. Oct. 11.

Crews arrived to find the operator, a 56-year-old male, with an "altered mental status," said Bartow EMS spokesperson Brad Cothran.

First responders requested a medical helicopter to transport the patient to a level-one trauma center.

Emergency crews continued to evaluate the man at the scene, and it was determined the operator suffered chest and abdominal trauma. The victim was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta for treatment.
