Police Identify Man Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash Near LakePoint
The collision was reported Friday on U.S. 41 at Stars Way in Emerson.

EMERSON, GA -- Charges are pending against a driver involved in a deadly two-vehicle collision late Friday morning in Emerson.
The crash was reported on U.S. 41/Joe Frank Harris Parkway at Stars Way, which is situated near the LakePoint Sporting Community.

Emerson Police Chief Kyle Teems said a Dodge Ram was traveling northbound on the highway while a Honda Civic was going southbound. The Civic, Teems told Patch, "turned in front of the Dodge, which t-boned the Honda on the passenger side."
The motorist inside the Honda Civic, identified by Teems as Ricky Brand, was pronounced dead on the scene, said Bartow EMS spokesperson Brad Cothran.

The driver of the Civic, Brandon Cochran, suffered injures and was transported to Cartersville Medical Center for treatment.
The driver of the Dodge truck, Lindsey Boyd, was not injured. Teems said charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
