Organizers Make Last-Minute Push For Duck Derby
The 15th annual event will be held May 6 at Terminus Wake Park.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- As we get closer to the launch of tens of thousands of ducks into the water for the 15th annual Duck Derby, Advocates for Children is announcing a few more of the prizes that will go to a few lucky ducks.
These rubber ducks will tumble, splash, bob, and slosh their way their way through the water on Saturday, May 6 at Terminus Wake Park, hoping to be among the first plucked to win prizes for their adopters.
The grand prize winner will receive $10,000 in cash, sponsored by Kennesaw Transportation Inc. However, he or she won’t be the only one walking away a winner that day, as there are a number of prizes for those early plucked ducks. From a Yeti Roadie and wakeboarding gear to four e-passes for a one-way Southwest Airlines flight (can be combined for two round-trip travel tickets) and a basket of goodies from downtown Cartersville merchants, the prizes are lining up to be great incentives for adopting lots of those little yellow ducks.

Additionally, there is a Very Important Duck (VID) race that will take place just before those 20,000 go for a swim. In this separate race, the winner will receive $1,000. VID ducks are sold as a package that includes one VID duck and 50 ducks in the main event for $250.
Every duck has a chance to win the grand prize and other outstanding prizes for its adopter. Ducks can be purchased at participating locations throughout Bartow County or at duckrace.com/Cartersville for $5 for a Lonely Quacker (1), $25 for a Quack Pack (6) and $50 for a Quacker’s Dozen (13). Purchases can also be made by texting “ADVOCHILD” to 243725.
