Pedestrian Killed By Vehicle in Cartersville
The man was walking along U.S. 411 at S.R. 20 when he was hit by the vehicle Wednesday evening.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- A man walking along a major highway was fatally wounded when he was struck by a car Wednesday evening.
Bartow County EMS crews responded to a call of a man who had been hit by a vehicle on S.R. 20 near U.S. 411, said spokesperson Brad Cothran.
Cartersville police spokesperson Lt. Mike Bettikofer added the call came in to authorities around 9:27 p.m., and the victim was hit while "crossing the road."

The victim is a 58-year-old male, but Bettikofer said his address is unknown and officers are working to notify his next of kin.
The vehicle involved in the collision, he added, fled the scene following the incident. Bettikofer said authorities believe the vehicle is possibly a small SUV that sustained front end damage and a "busted" radiator.
