Perfectly Pampered

  Who knew 2014 would be so rewarding?  February has been an absolutely great month for me.  I am truly thankful for the blessings this year has already bestowed upon me, and I am anticipating what else is in store for me.  For you to truly understand what these experiences have meant to me, you must know the way 2013 ended for us.

  My husband’s battle with Brain Cancer ended on October 27th, 2013.  It was extremely difficult to watch my best friend suffer before his death. After dating for over three years, we were engaged on April 17th, 2013 and married on June 7th, 2013.  Less than five months later, Jason Steven Smith went to be with the Lord. Although our time together ended so soon, I know I have forever been changed.  I try so hard to be strong for my kids, but our first Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year without Jason was extremely hard.  Throughout 2013, I constantly prayed God would make it possible for me to take a trip to the spa. I was so stressed out and overwhelmed with all that my husband was suffering through, and I was desperate for some much needed pampering.  As 2013 came to a close, I still had not ventured to a spa.  I knew this was something I needed, so I decided to make it my New Year’s Resolution.

  As the month of February came around, things started to change.  I won tickets to Super Cross with my kids.  Then on MY BIRTHDAY, I won Jason Aldean concert tickets, along with a gift certificate. Then, just when I least expected it, after a very busy week, an old school mate sent me a $40 Facial Promo Package to Vibrant Health Center. The price for a combo service was awesome; especially considering the microdermabrasion alone is regularly $115.  My friend said she would pay for half of the facial, so I had to take her up on that offer.  I am tremendously thankful I did.

  The special price was only good through the month of February.  I knew I would have to juggle my hectic schedule to fit the visit in, but I wanted this for me.  Although it turned out to be a true challenge, I was able to schedule the visit in between several different meetings.  It was exactly what I needed to revitalize before my last meeting of the day.  The only way I can describe it, is like eating a great snack that holds you over until dinner. 

  Everything about the experience was warm, friendly, inviting, and relaxing. I felt their sincere concern about ME, MY SKIN, and MY OVERALL WELL BEING. It was so comforting to discuss my skin problems with someone that actual understands skin and how it works. Kristeena Suarez, Vibrant Health Center’s Licensed Esthetician, had a way of making me feel like I was talking to my best friend that understood everything I was saying and knew how to help me. On February 23rd, 2000, I was injured in a car accident that left a lot of glass in my face. For someone to actually understand what I was talking about was so relieving. My skin issues have been a major frustration for many years, and it is very painful and irritating.  I have felt like there was nothing I could do about it for so long, but now I feel very hopeful. She took her time to uncover my skin care needs, and then explained every detail of what she was doing to my face and the reason for it. My face felt new and completely different once she was finished.  My skin was soft and smooth to the touch.
