Officers with the Cartersville Police Department responded to the crash at 1:07 p.m. Saturday, May 7 on S.R. 61/U.S. 411 at Center Street. According to an accident report released by the agency, a 2016 Honda Pilot was making a U-Turn just before the highway's intersection with Center Street.
The second vehicle, a 1993 Honda CBR, was also traveling northbound on the highway. According to the report, the driver of the Pilot told police he "looked ahead of him and behind him and saw no one coming," so he made a U-turn at the intersection.

The car and motorcycle collided, forcing the motorcycle operator to come to a rest under the Honda Pilot, said Bartow EMS spokesperson Brad Cothran.
The operator, identified as Christian Tyler Soli, 23, of Adairsville, was initially transported to Cartersville Medical Center, but later airlifted to Erlanger Hospital where he died from his injuries.
According to the report, an initial investigation revealed the driver of the Pilot performed an "illegal u-turn," causing the motorcycle to strike the car on its left side.
However, the investigation into the accident remains active and ongoing, said Cartersville police spokesperson Lt. Mike Bettikofer.
