Deputies then located the man in question, identified as 32-year-old Truitt Jermaine Cousin of the same address.

“Cousin was acting extremely strange and was screaming profanities and random words,” Millsap said. “Deputies then located a 32-year-old male victim inside the apartment with multiple gunshot wounds.”

The man was transported to Floyd Medical Center where he died from his injuries, the sheriff stated.

The victim’s name is being withheld at this time pending notification of next of kind, and investigation into the shooting remains active, Millsap stated.

Cousin was taken into custody and is being held at the Bartow County Jail on pending charges.

Cousin had no criminal record with the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office, as he had reportedly just moved to the area Millsap stated.
