Police Officers Use Day Off To Help Elderly Resident Move

Six members of the Cartersville Police Department's B shift helped the citizen move so she could care for an ill relative.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- While most of us enjoy relaxing on a day of from work, a few officers with the Cartersville Police Department used their free time to help another citizen in need.

Members of the agency's B shift -- known to us regular folks as the night shift -- were informed of an elderly resident who needed help moving to care for an ill relative.

So, six officers with the agency -- Lieutenant Mark Windsor, Sergeant Cullen LaFrance and officers Josh Cole, Brandon Cole, Mike Patton and Gary Turner -- used their down time to help the resident carry out that task.

"CPD is lucky to have such community oriented police officers," the agency said on its Facebook page.
