Police Recover Stolen ATM, But Theft Suspects Remain at Large

Three suspects attempted to remove an ATM posted outside The Bank of the Ozarks on Highway 140 in nearby Adairsville.

The Adairsville Police Department is asking the public to help them locate three men who were involved in the theft of an ATM at a local bank.

Around 3:16 a.m. Thursday, police were dispatched to a broken window alarm call at Cracker Barrel at 941 Highway 140 east of Interstate 75.

“It was immediately obvious to the officers that this was a diversionary tactic,” Adairsville police said in a press release. A passerby informed 911 dispatchers about someone using a forklift to remove an ATM at the Bank of the Ozarks along the same highway west of the interstate.
