Pre-Registration Still Available for Duck Dash 5K and Fun Run

CARTERSVILLE, Ga.- Sept. 23, 2016: With one week to go before the 2016 Annual Duck Dash 5K and Fun Run, registration continues online at www.AdvoChild.org/DuckDash.

Both races are scheduled for Oct. 1 at Cartersville Primary School. On-site registration will start at 7 a.m., as well as packet pick up. Those who pre-register are guaranteed a t-shirt in their requested size, as well as have the opportunity to receive their packets at Athletes Locker between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 30. The 5K course is considered fast and flat with some rolling hills and the overall elevation is about a 2 percent change. The Fun Run is approximately .7 miles and open to children of all ages, but most fun for children 8 and under.

Runners or walkers may preregister by visiting the Advocates for Children website, www.AdvoChild.org. Fun Run registration is $15. Registration for the 5K is $35. Additionally, a student category has been added to the race registration that allows students to register for the 5K for $17. Group registrations are also available.

This is the 12th year for the race, which is sponsored by Cartersville Medical Center, C&C Gutters, Gary Fox CPA, and Ramey Wealth/Wells Fargo Advisors. The event is scheduled to take place rain or shine to raise money in support of Advocates for Children and its programs that are dedicated to the treatment and prevention of child abuse and neglect. Advocates for Children serves more than 3,000 families and children annually.
