Qualifying Ends in Cartersville With One Contested Race

Matt Santini will run unopposed for another term as mayor, and Ward 6 Council member Lori Pruitt will have a challenger.

Qualifying to run in the upcoming Nov. 3, 2015, municipal elections has ended in Cartersville, and city residents will have only one contested race on the ballot.

Mayor Matt Santini has qualified to run for the seat he’s held since 2008. Council members Jayce Stepp, who serves Ward 2, and Lindsey McDaniel, who represents Ward 4, will both run unopposed for four more years.

Ward 6 Council member Lori Pruitt has opposition, however. Attorney Taff Wren has tossed his hat into the ring to run for the seat.

Cartersville City School Board members Pat Broadnax of Ward 4, Travis Popham of Ward 3 and at-large member Linda Benton also have qualified to run for re-election. They face no opposition.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3 for city elections.
