Railroad Crossing At U.S. 411 To Close For Repairs
The railroad crossing in front of Toyo Tire will close at 7 a.m. Oct. 17, and traffic will be detoured into S.R. 140 and I-75.

WHITE, GA -- The Georgia Department of Transportation is advising motorists in Bartow County of a detour that will be implemented for U.S. 411/S.R. 61 at the Toyo Tire railroad crossing in White. The detour, set for Oct. 17-18, is needed to accommodate work by the railroad company to repair tracks at the location.
U.S. 411 will be closed from 7 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, and traffic will be detoured off the highway onto S.R. 140 and I-75. The Georgia DOT urges motorists in Bartow County to watch out for message boards at the closing points on U.S. 411 and signs along the detour route.

“We certainly hope that all motorists watch out for these detour signs and be extra cautious while approaching this work zone,” said DeWayne Comer, district engineer at the Georgia DOT office in Cartersville. “We understand that the closure of U.S. 411 at this location may cause some inconvenience and delays, but it is necessary for railroad company to repair the tracks as quickly as possible and giving the roadway back to local traffic and traveling public,.
