The Bartow County Sheriff’s Office is picking up patrols in an unincorporated Adairsville neighborhood following a report of man who allegedly tried to lure two girls into the woods.
A deputy with the agency was dispatched to a home on Stoner’s Road around 11:35 p.m. Jan. 18. The mother told the officer her daughter and a friend “were playing in the yard when they observed a man standing in the woods (near) their residence,” the deputy wrote in the report.
The woman said one of the girls walked to the edge of the yard to retrieve a softball “when she heard footsteps in the leaves and observed a white male approximately six feet tall and weighing 250 pounds leaning up against a tree,” the report reads.
